Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 4, 2026

NextBlock™ CMS ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. We protect your personal information under Quebec's Law 25, the federal PIPEDA act, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. Person responsible for personal information

Our Privacy Officer oversees our compliance with privacy laws. You can reach them at privacy@nextblock.dev.

2. What we collect

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and login details when you register.
  • Usage and device data: Collected only with your consent through analytics tools.
  • Communications: Messages you send us and your newsletter choices.

3. Why we collect it and your consent

We collect personal information for clear reasons: to provide our services, keep accounts secure, and reply to your messages. We use analytics and marketing tools only with your direct, opt-in consent. Under Law 25, optional cookies stay off until you choose to accept them. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

Essential cookies keep the site running and require no consent. Analytics and marketing cookies load only after you opt in via our cookie banner. We record your choice to honor it and follow privacy rules.

5. Disclosure and sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the platform under strict confidentiality agreements, or when required by law.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law. After that, we securely delete or anonymize your data.

7. Your rights

Under privacy laws, you have the right to view, correct, and delete your personal information. You can also withdraw consent or ask for a portable copy of your data. To use these rights, write to our Privacy Officer at privacy@nextblock.dev.

8. Commercial electronic messages (CASL)

We send commercial emails only with your permission. Every email clearly identifies us and includes an easy unsubscribe link that takes effect right away.

9. Safeguards

We use strong technical and physical protections to keep your data safe. These include encrypted connections and strict access controls to prevent loss, theft, and unauthorized access.

10. Open-source software

NextBlock™ CMS is free open-source software under the AGPLv3 license. When you self-host NextBlock, you control your own server. You are responsible for the personal data on your deployment, and this policy is a helpful model you can adapt.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy over time. We announce important changes on our site and update the revision date at the top.

12. Contact us
